The double ram, over 3x clock and added L2 Cache make the n3dsxl better for me and not to forget the actualy usable 3d.

There is one more difference, the 3dsxl has the normal 3D screen, but the new3dsxl has facetracking 3D, it helps when you want to play a game in 3d

The N3DS XL has quite a few more upgrades than just SNES games and the C-Stick. The CPU was upgraded, which is what allows it to play those SNES games along with the N3DS exclusive games like Xenoblade. Great game btw. The cameras on the front of the N3DS XL have IR tracking which actually makes the 3D effect in game legitimately usable and actually enjoyable at times. You also get 2 extra shoulder buttons, which can be really helpful in certain games. The biggest difference for me personally though is that the N3DS XL can have 1 or 2 IPS screens instead of the usual TN panels, improving viewing angles and color accuracy in a lot of games. The N3DS XL specifically is the only model of 3DS that can possibly have an IPS screen from the factory.

There's a reason that the vast majority of people looking for a 3DS want the N3DS XL, and why they cost significantly more than an O3DS XL.

Although I have to say the 3dsxl has everything in convenient spots for sure. Removable microsd card slot and stylus placement.
The microsd card however you would need the adapter other than that I really appreciate it.
N3DSXL obviously most sort after but I dunno kinda happy with the 3DSXL

You forgot a few things.

-Better hardware/ processing power
-Face tracking 3D
-Better battery life
-Built in NFC reader and amiibo support with the “New” model on the bottom screen, so no need for an external NFC reader.
-No AC adapter included with the “New” model (not a technical difference still a difference)
-Different Button placement.
-The need to unscrew the back play on the “New” model, to access your micro sd card slot.
-Game Card Slot, stylus, and power button have been moved to the bottom of the console.
-Volume slider is on the left of the top screen now.
- “New 3ds” exclusive games such as xenoblade, Minecraft, runbow, final fantasy game (I forget the name”
-New ZR and ZL buttons on the “New” model.
- “New” model has a different aesthetic.
-Speakers only have five holes on the “New model”
-Buying one in modern day, the “New” model is far pricier, if seen it be as much as $100+ than a base XL, but some places have XL’s going for $200, so in those cases only $50 for the new model.

Overall, I’d say the “New” model is definitely superior, but it’s up to the discretion of the buyer if it’s worth the extra money, and if you don’t plan on utilizing the enhanced 3D I’d recommend the “New” 2ds XL, bc it goes for less than the “New” 3ds XL model, however it is still more than a normal XL model, so as said, it’s is up to discretion.
