Video shows well the difference between the two players. When people choose Ronaldo they either say "I admire him for his work" so they don't acknowledge he is better, just he is a role model for them. Or say they pick him because they played with him, or are his teammates who aren't really going to say otherwise.
Messi however is always picked clear by everyone else. Particularly coaches they are the most important voices of the game because they know their sport from a global perspective, it is always Messi. There is no comparison there never was.
It is just a matter of watching a game how Messi glides swiftly across the field and sees every single chance to score, he sees every pass and he sees every goal. Even if you want to go to the numbers because you don't trust what you see in the game it is even more clear Messi much higher goalscoring rate and even higher assisting rate.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a top role model of hard-work and discipline. But Messi not only also works hard, he has this talent that you can see when he grabs the ball, as I say he glides through the field and is omniscient of all offensive possiblities in the game, making him not only the best attacker in history but the best midfielder in history as well. Best goalscorer and best playmaker. Just another realm of football.
