Ranked-Choice Voting with Professor Lisa Disch
Показать описание
This recorded presentation was a live Zoom event that took place on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
With a ranked-choice voting system, voters rank candidates in order of preference instead of choosing only one, even in a race for a single office. Professor Lisa Disch will speak about this system and how it can encourage candidates to run issue-focused, non-dirt-throwing campaigns.
Lisa Disch is Professor of Political Science, with a courtesy appointment in Women's Studies, at the University of Michigan. She teaches classes on democratic politics, feminism, and political philosophy and has written many books and articles, including "The Tyranny of the Two-Party System."
Presented by the League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area - Brighton/Howell Area Geographical Unit and the Howell Carnegie District Library
