I love the idea of Quidditch in real life, and with tweaking the rules a bit it could be cool, but how can you take yourself or a sport seriously when you're doing it with a broom between your legs for no reason other than novelty

I love how everyone's saying it's be better without the brooms, but what they don't understand is that the brooms are a basic necessity. It's like you trying to play golf without a club. You can sorta do it (if you get a stick or throw the ball lmao) but it isn't right. Without the brooms that leaves a lot of empty cavities in the game. First off the brooms are used to help count penalties. You fall off that broom it's a penalty. When you fall off or are shoved off or tackled (this game is as dangerous as football, guys) you have to get /off/ the bre and walk to the rings, then preceded to mount it again. No, you cannot raise your hand in show, that's already another single. No you can not have a bandana or flag, beaters have the headbands/bandanas and that would be too confusing. The whole game is also supposed to be played with one hand (though 2 hands can be accepted in some throws and pitches.) without the brooms there's really no point. It just ends up being some sport that has holes in it as to what can and can not go. Also, the broom policy helps referees (and team mates) know when someone's out and who has a penalty. Besides that the brooms add a whole new aspect to the game. No one cares how the fucking brooms look like when players use them. Everyones watching the game.

Don't hate on games simply because you don't like the way it looks. And don't hate because people take it "too seriously." Imagine a game of soccer being called out like this and people saying they're taking it "too seriously." It's important to them and other people don't be assholes. Who cares who plays what we're all athletes here who just appreciate and love our games, pulled from a book or not. If you don't like this don't comment and don't watch it. Simple as that.
