I'm 18 and I've never used any social media, but here's my take on it anyway. Social media can be a good way to keep up with friends, but we shouldn't be reliant on it. Like everything, it should be used in moderation, and if it becomes too important, take a break or cut it off completely.

Wrong! It’s not up to the Internet to teach our children it’s the parents responsibility of when, how, who, etc. You can always tell when people don’t have children lol

I got a myspace account at 16 in 2007 and that is nothing like any social media today and I agree now that I was too young and it disrupted my pre-adulthood.

Pre screening is a must. Get physical copies of tv shows that aren’t crap. Let them know that net freedom is something earned, not owed. That freedom is earned by proving responsibility. Generally, stay away from TikTok, I say that as a man well out of college.

This is a hard one. What I worry about the most is the sexual predators that go after the young kids and the ages between 12-16 are prime targets for them.

You should be able to smoke tobacco at 18, you should be able to drink alcohol at 18, and you should only be able to access the internet without parental consent at 18.
