"Bruno left because of you."

Mirabel was FIVE when he left. She blamed a five year old.

Abuela's voice acting was beyond Disney it felt very realistic, the voice actress did that.

Ever notice that Abuela keeps saying "this" family instead of "your" family or "our" family? Her love really was dependent on what use Mirabel was to the Madrigal reputation.

Abuela’s scolding sounded and looked so realistic it has me shaken up

mirabel sounds like shes almost about to cry every time she speaks (then again, it makes sense considering the way her family treated her because she didn’t get a gift), her voice actress did an amazing job :D

I love the change in Isabela's demeanour once Aubuela appears. She goes from confident and free, to immediately submitting in her stance and shrinking herself because she knows how Abuela wants her to be and is scared to break that mould in front of her cause she acts...well, the way she acts with Mirabel.

This scene hit hard, because I know how Mirabel feels, the way she says "I.. I will _never_ be enough" is exactly how my own father made me feel

I love this scene, Mirabel has done the right thing facing her grandma, because she is the first to see how the family really feels and care about Bruno. Nice job, Mirabel!😊

This was the most satisfying part of the movie for me. I completely understand where the Grandma is coming from, but that doesn't give her the right to blame Mirabel for the family problems. Like, seriously. It's not her fault the candle didn't give her a gift.

Imagine being told that one of your relatives left the family behind because of you, especially when the "reason" was completely out of your control. That must've stung like a truck at mach 5 speed.

most emotional scene i've ever seen. No cursing, violence, just pure words. A mature topic broadcasted to children. I really think this is beautiful.

Abuela doesn't deserve Mirabel as a granddaughter. Mirabel does nothing but give and give and give and Abuela repays her with selfishness, neglect and verbal abuse. I mean she barely includes her in any family activity or photo. Even goes as far as to blame Mirabel for all their problems and it wasn't even her fault. Love your children and grandchildren equally.😡

Eyo, when she said "Bruno left because of you", the line made me piss. Its your son..why blame your granddaughter?

Abuela at the beginning of the show: your just as special as the rest of the family

Also abuela after a few years: Bruno left because of you, luisas power is fading and Isabel's out of control BEACUSE OF YOU

I like how Casita reflects what Mirabel feels. It visualizes Mirabel's emotions.

Literally felt the fear isabela expressed in her guarding behavior when abuela yelled at them. It’s so hard to be yourself when you have to follow so many expectations. Mirabel was so strong to confront Abuela 😢

0:58-1:46 "I will never be good enough for you, will I? No matter how hard I try... no matter how hard any of us tries. Luisa will never be strong enough. Isabela won't be perfect enough. Bruno left our family because you only saw the worst in him."
I love how much this speech resonates in this day and age. With the rise of social media and political unrest, it's so easy to want to put everyone on a pedestal and measure their worth by their appearances and their accomplishments, to the point that we don't know how to accept disagreement or disappointment and make it mean the worst about someone. But this story shows that we're more than just the sum of our parts and that it's our responsibility to love each other even when we're at our lowest point. We don't have to like everything someone does to love them as they are.

I know the movie doesn't focus on a villain, but Alma is most defenitly the most villainous character. Talking about importance about family while only talk her own family down for not being good enough even though having magical gifts. Making them all feel bad in some way.
