In this creative coding tutorial we walk through of creating a procedural light wood texture in pure SVG. With the help of gradient mapping the Perlin noise output of the feTurbulence filter effect is turned into wood grains. The resulting SVG code is 256 bytes minified, and with the addition of the seed attribute it can be used to produce millions of variations. No JavaScript needed 🙂
