As a psychiatrist, this is a behavior. It's 1 or 2 reasons for her actions. 1 she's tired and upset, because she wants to leave. 2 she doesn't know the answers and is embarrassed. So now she's acting out

I am a substitute teacher and see this a lot in high school. This student is clearly in distress. Sometimes students are overstimulated with school work and need a break. I know is no excuse for the tantrum but I feel for students who are mind numb with so much work and no fun curriculum. This teacher is so sweet and she really cares and is just doing what is asked if her .

As a teacher, I've always said we need cameras in the classroom so that parents & admin can see what we have to deal with. This behavior is unfair to other students not just the teacher

I’m a fourth grade teacher. This is a common occurrence. The main thing you have to do is stay calm and stand your ground. These kids sometimes don’t know how else to express their emotions and it will come out as anger or frustration. If it gets violent, then you call in admin. But what I do mostly is do my “teacher voice” 99% of the time my voice is low and calm. If my voice gets slightly elevated with a stern tone my students know they messed up.

This teacher has a lot more patience than I would have. This kid is way too old to be throwing a tantrum like this. I would expect this kind of behavior from a 2-year-old.
