I'd like the Ninja company demonstrate how to clean the heating elements/fan and the heat shield above the heating element. It doesn't look like it can be done easily or well. Is this a major design fail?

Can the silicon feet on the corners of the crisper plate be removed for cleaning? I do not have a dishwasher and normal washing in a sink will not get rid of the oil and food residue that collects between the feet and the crisper plate. Just peel part of the foot back after cooking and hand washing and you will see what I mean. I am concerned that over time bacteria could start to form if this area of the crisper that cannot be properly cleaned.

I have the 9.5l one and all I do to clean it is put enough water (with washing up liquid) to cover the crisper plate.. then turn it on to full heat.. and after 2 or 3 minutes it all just pours out and and wipes clean.. simplez .. problem I've come across though is my fan in the 2nd drawer doesn't seem to spin. Might need to take it apart n see

That was a bit of a non-starter!
As someone else suggested, we need a ninja with a slide-out removal plate, above the element, which we can take out and clean properly.

The coating of the crisper plates was really cheap at mine..
Started coming off after only 1 week! although I always handwashed them gently.

Was looking to buy one of these Ninja air fryers, but after seeing this and reading the comments below i think i'll give Ninja a miss. No straight answer to simple questions on how to clean the element INSIDE which was my last concern before i was willing to buy. Avoiding such questions as if they were politians in training. Hey Ninja, love your products (and peeps can you vote up to show interest please and maybe Ninja ask the question on socials) but I have a Dual Zone AF400 and love it but I was wondering would you ever consider doing some alternative basket addons/retrofit such as stainless steel version? It looks like we could refit the handles ourselves. Sure we'd have to be care with ensuring our food doesn't get welded into place but on the upside it would be more dishwasher safe, better wearing, more hygienic and we could use spray oils without ruining the coating (I appreciate you can just decanter regular oi to spray bottles)?

So... how do we clean the fan and top of the basket inside? It's getting ridiculously caked on in grease and I don't have access. Short of blasting it with degreaser... how? The fan is making a rattling noise due to how caked up it is
