I had a job creating posters for a licence company who had rights for the biggest properties (name dropping Disney, 20th Century Fox, BBC…) and was in a shop when not only did I see some of my posters in the rack, but saw a young kid choose one to buy and take home. Unbelievable feeling of pride and satisfaction.

A cool idea would be to make a YouTube playlist with all of your work, clips of movies, full commercials. And in between each video have a little snippet of you talking about making it. It's a whole playlist that I would watch. :)

I've been fortunate enough to make a few pieces for both TV and cinema. Seeing my things on the screen must be what it's like when a band hears their music on the radio for the first time. It's unbelievably exciting, and something you never forget.

I thank you for taking the time to tell these stories. I love listening to you tell stories about anything. It's always a joy to hear.

Adam, you can wash the blue rags. They'll hold up to several washings. I have tons of them because I used to work in a hospital and we went through these things like candy. I only toss them if what I sopped up is gross, too gross to wash or if they fall apart, which has happened a couple of times.

LOL. My dad was an OR nurse and he would bring home the unused blue towels from surgery and you are so right, those lasted forever and never stained. Oh, you just took me so far back.

I worked for a very small animation studio here in Albuquerque in the 80s’ . We never got credit because they mostly did commercials. We did a anti-drug after school special which everyone got a screen credit. It was thrill to see our names on the screen. To this day, I always stay and watch/ read the end credits of a movie.

I'm honestly excited to see my work on screen for the first time, I worked on something that has a connection to Adam and after watching this channel for so long leading to why I'm getting into the film industry it'll be great to have something that has come from all the hours of watching these videos.

Those surgical towels are amazing. Someone gave us a crapload of them about 10 years ago. We started using them as kitchen hand/dish towels because they are amazing at drying things off. We had so many we gave them to family but kept about 20-30 of them. They wash out fine in the laundry and are impressively durable and reusable.

Re: those acid brushes - If you crimp the metal just below the bristles with a pair of pliers you get a lot fewer dropped bristles. I have a weird set of parallel-jaw pliers that is perfect for it, but a pair of channel locks should do the trick. Annoying, but less so than losing bristles.

I like that brief pause just to say, "Those red rags make me crazy!" through gritted teeth. They are the angst of a project for sure!

I agree about the blue surgical towels, but what works great is when they start getting grungy, toss them in the washing machine get them out clean and they only get softer after repeated washings

Regarding the acid brushes, don't "throw them out". Next time you create "free" boxes for the smaller creators throw a handful in.

I`m currently waiting for that feeling of seeing my props on screen for the 1st time. They are only going to be set decoration, no hero props or anything like that but they are large so should stand out.

For your Shop towels, Have you ever thought about washing them your self ? I use to work at a garage and we had an old washer that we use to use,

My son has been a sign-maker and worked with vehicle lights for years, and through all that time two out of three drives he's pointed out something he's made. It is indeed very cool to see your work out in the world.

I have a system for my rags... Micro fibre... They start as glasses cleaners, they move to semi interior cleaner, then to polish applying rags to degreaser laden bitumen and grease cleaner then finally to a Bitumen pipework cleaner/plug behind an end cap. I can relate 😅

For those acid brushes, I smack the ferrule end with a hammer. Solves the shedding problem. I keep a handful of brushes in a container on my desk for epoxy work. When I restock it, I take a few mins to give each one a whack and I'm good for awhile
