Joe absolutely botched it. Minnesota did indeed vote for Nixon in 1972. In fact that was the last time Minnesota voted for a Republican President. I think what he meant to say was MN was the only state to not vote for Ronald Reagan in 1984

Correction: Massachusetts was the one state that didn’t go for Nixon. Minnesota did in fact go for Nixon. Minnesota was however the one state that didn’t go for reagon when their own Walter Mondale narrowly won it in ‘84

Gov. Tim Walz gave a keynote speech a few weeks ago at the ESRI User Conference in San Diego. He didn't speak about politics. He spoke about Geography. He was a geography teacher before politics. Best keynote I've ever heard and one smart dude. He'd be a great VP.
