People here are really underestimating Mephistopheles. He's a devil, he probably is just waiting for his son to cause chaos so that many other will die in the process, and when Raphael burns out in the fire of his own ambitions, meph will be there to fill a lot of the power vacuum.

One of the reasons I felt comfortable giving Raphael the crown in a "good" playthrough is that there is no way he is going to be able to usurp Asmodeus. And I say that as someone who likes Raphael too!

My wife and I forgot to kill him after getting the hammer from him. She started crashing a ton after an update, we took a break, and forgot how we got the hammer in that run.
