The Ganga River, despite being the holiest river in India, is also the most polluted. But why aren’t these rivers being cleaned by the government?

More than 50% of India’s rivers are not even fit for bathing.

We worship the Ganga, but it is also one of the dirtiest rivers in the country.

Why is this the case?

The main reason is that all the wastewater from cities directly flows into these rivers.

Additionally, industrial waste and chemicals like fertilizers also pollute the rivers.

Every year, a thick layer of toxic foam forms on the Yamuna River, with over 75% of its pollution coming from Delhi.

But what is the government doing to clean them?

Since 2014, the Indian government has spent ₹32,000 crore on the Clean Ganga Mission.

However, improvements in water quality have only been observed in a few areas.

The AAP government had planned to clean the Yamuna River, but it hasn’t shown much impact.

On top of that, the deadline for completing the work has been extended from December 2024 to March 2025.

Bro it he will clean when he will get any voting benefits from voter like be honest his some policies are killing Delhi like free water, free electricity, etc. people don't feel that they are wasting water and that waste water is dumped in Yamuna and other rivers and I know you are thinking that why free electricity is killing Delhi. it is because electricity is mainly dependent on coal which creates lots of air pollution and if you are thinking that I am criticizing AAP or I am ahandbhakht of. BJP you are wrong.
I can criticize BJP too. But BJP have lots of good work in many sectors and What about Sabarmati river it was dirty in early 2014-15 but now it is one of cleanest river in India.
And what about congress doing Modi-Adani stuff and not criticizing AAP for this it is very wrong it is party of opposition it should critize other party as of now, it is not in alliance with AAP in upcoming 2025 election.
