I read David Copperfield when I was 8. I think I just wanted to read a grown up book. The librarian tried to redirect me to something more “age appropriate” but I was a stubborn little thing! I remember parts of it and enjoyed the reading of experience. I’m planning on re-reading it this winter.

I've only read A Christmas Carol by Dickens but I already own a few of his novels, including this one. I am so excited to get onboard the Dickens train and I'm definitely going to start with this!! Thanks so much for this video; definitely looking forward to reading this. :D

You started reading Great Expectations at 7 or 8! Dickens has a reputation for being difficult to read. I was reading Enid Blyton at that age.

I have Great Expectations on my shelf but have never put it down! reading The Haunted Hotel by Wilkie Collin's at the moment and really enjoying it, it's so accessible :)
