VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
When I was applying for schools, I was trying to decide between UMass and other smaller liberal arts colleges. And I decided to choose UMass, because I had a lot of different interests. And I felt like UMass provided me with so many different opportunities, that I didn't have to choose between one of my interests, I can like explore all of them.

UMass is so big but I think with that comes so many opportunities that are just available for you if you're just willing to take that first step and reach out to professors or reach out to faculty members. I feel like I've really gotten a chance to tailor my experience at UMass for what I want, and what I want my future to be.

I didn't know what I wanted to do when I was coming into college So, I felt that because it was a bigger school, I was able to have the opportunity to explore different avenues and kind of find my way through, and decide what I eventually wanted to do.

So I always knew that I wanted to attend a big university, just because of the amount of opportunities available on a big research university like UMass, and I felt like it was somewhere that I could see myself fitting in.

I chose to come to UMass because of all the different options that I had coming in. I wanted to feel like I had options to explore if to explore. My primary interests were history and politics, but I was also thinking about physics, and had a little bit of interest in education. Coming to UMass, I could check out all of those things.

But there is such a good sense of community here. And it's kind of ironic because it's such a big college that you wouldn't think that students get that sense of community. When you get into your major level classes, there's so much collaboration and you pretty much know everyone in your major, which is awesome, especially at a big college.
