1:12 White mice usually require an additional coating to make the surface resist yellowing, so there's your extra gram or two.

Damn the shade at the end lmao. I do agree that it’s a bit overpriced but Logitech pretty much did the exact same when releasing the G Pro Wireless Superlight, and they saw massive success with that… when it comes to the “Pro” name, I think that “Pro” refers to professional/esport players that value ingame performance more than anything. I think it’s targeted at that specific niche and that’s why they’re still selling the Viper Ultimate along side it.

Price tag too high. But compare to the Superlight and the V2 Pro is the better product in every way from a performance perspective. They removed several features that I don't care about ex. RGB, LH side buttons, etc. But it has improved sensor, switches, and significant weight reduction and these are thing I do care about. If price isn't an issue, get the V2 Pro. If price is an issue, the Viper ultimate is a great value right now and still a top mouse on the market.

Just a thought on something. Razer’s “ X “ line up of mice don’t share the same features as the V2 pro. I understand where you’re coming from for sure, but if this were to be an X peripheral then there would be a few changes.

• It wouldn’t be using their 30K focus sensor.

• It would possibly be powered by an external battery ( AA/AAA lithium on the user side to cut weight ).

• It might not use their 3rd gen optical switches.

Since this mouse fits into their flagship category it was probably priced as such. I think you’re right about them removing dock capability to cut weight. Thing about cutting weight is .. there’s only so much you can do while trying to maintain a product that still feels solid.

I don’t think I’d say it’s worth $150, maybe $100 or $130 at best.

For comparison, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste Wireless is $80 and uses a worse sensor ( albeit still a great mouse ).

Just my thoughts! Great video regardless!

They had excellent opportunity to undercut the Superlight, and tip the scale towards value as they did with the viper mini. Absolutely agree with you Frank. As an existing RVU user, I'd have to give into their greed to get a nice weight and button upgrade.

G Pro to G Pro Superlight is considered an upgrade because it had less features to begin with, now RVU to RV2 is considered a downgrade because it started with more features and decreased on the RV2. Might be biased to say that Razers downfall was because the RVU was just too good, and they were taking away more in comparison with the GP to GPX since it had less features.

The v2 pro is definitely what the ultimate and mini combined is, which imo is really good since the size and weight of the mini was really good to most people who likes to game with claw and fingertip grip.

1:12 Without knowing exactly what formula they use, I assume they use Titanium Oxide to dye the white plastic, which would add a few grams of weight to the product.

Is this deja vu? Doesn’t this sound similar to how the G Pro to the G Pro X launch? Great mouse, more expensive and less features.

Pro is for competitive play. The sensor is 2 years a head according to boarzy with like 750 isp. It's easier to track with a lighter mouse.

Tbh I think this is the first product that actually deserves the pro name. Most companies add the pro name to products with added gimmicks that most "pros" would never use. If you're upset about the price you can blame Logitech for that, the G pro X Superlight was $159 when it dropped.

Not me watching a v2 review video while driving home with my v2 in the passenger seat thinking I bought the wrong $100 mouse

Im not agree with the price judgement because logitech does the same.... US$160 for the g pro x and is a mouse of maximum US$80. Same here with the razer. Now logitech doesnt have an actually US$80 mouse and now razer dropped the ultimate so is a nice deal.

Thoughts as an original Viper Ultimate owner:

Really not a fan of this. Own the current Viper Ultimate and love it. Every change they made takes away one of my favorite features from the viper ultimate. The wireless charging is remarkable and I never would've spent more than $90 on a mouse if it wasn't for the amazing wireless charging pad. The weight is already WAY more than light enough. I use all 4 of the custom side buttons as separate inputs in games and like how flush they are. The built in grips is one of the best features, I have had them fall of on other mice but they're still comfortable and as good as the day they were new on my Ultimate. Battery lasts forever and was meaningless on original because of dock. USB-C is pointless when the dock had detachable cable at the ready. The combination of the DPI and power button is just insult to injury, even if they had good intentions.

This mouse should cost no more than $90. The sensor could be twice as good for all I care it's still a downgrade in every meaningful metric.

The hypocrisy on this mouse is pretty funny.. but you did not criticize the GPX price this way.. If this shape works for you it’s better than a GPX super light. If you can justify 150 for a gpro then you can justify 150 for a Viper V2 Pro..

You're right about the weight difference being noticeable. I notice it with my g pro vs superlight, It makes holding the mouse more natural and effortless. And I prefer razer's flatter shape. So I'd love this mouse if ambidextrous with no right side buttons wasn't such an annoying trend, because if you're used with doing important stuff in-game with them, then the use for such a mouse is rather limited. As it is, I'd rather get 2 more ultimates for the price of one of these, before everyone saves a few bucks on 2 switches and you can't get proper ambi mice anywhere.

Honestly 150 makes sense it’s a competition if you want the best you gotta pay for the higher price it’s always been like that it’s a sad truth

8:25 That's not fair, Razer is just following logitech on G-Pro superligh. Yes, It's nice to have a X version, but the sensor will be downgrade and the 58g weight excludes the AAA or AA battery. And I bet it will be a supersale product. And I AM agree that it should comes with the charging dock support, I'm not going to buy a new Razer mouse without it.
