My order is in as of tonight. I ran into problems with the existing NEMA 10-30 outlet that had been in my wall for 70 years. Needed to get replaced and Eddie Gallegos did a quick and excellent job. He came the same day I called and was done in an hour. Now, I'm ready to install the EV - Powershare when it arrives. Now if i could only have any clue when the Model Y will arrive! Thanks Frugal Guy for this excellent and cost-effective solution for EV charging.

Great solution…….
If your laundry is not in the garage then keep in mind that the wall between the garage and the home has a fire rating that must be maintained ……
If you have an insurance policy

Mike, on your recommendation, I ordered and installed an EVPS 6 months before I even had my Tesla. The first time I was charging and went to use the dryer, it overloaded the unit and shut down. I contacted the designer/seller and he admitted that the overcorrect component he had used in earlier models was defective. He offered to send me a new unit once he had confirmation that mine was on its way to him. However, that would mean that I might be out of charging power for weeks. I opted for his other option which was to send me a replacement part and have me do the repair. He said it might only take me 20 minutes. But, what he didn't compute was the time to move my washer and dryer out of the way just to get to the unit, make the repair and then reverse the process. From start to finish, it took me an hour and 40 minutes. I appreciate that he was willing to put it right (after all it was still in a one-year warranty), but having to do the repair hasn't made me happy. Still this is a way to use existing outlets most people may have and save the expense of a new outlet and circuit. Which in my case would cost $750.

Awesome review, was hesitant on the other two products, and this one does it all, just placed an order using your discount code! thanks

UPDATE: Been using it for over a week now with no issues and works great! Very seamless integration using a 14-30 outlet running a high efficiency dryer. The extra breaker gives me more peace of mind on safety and the display is great for keeping up with electricity used. Great customer service as well!

Thanks so much. I just got two quotes for a 50Amp outlet for my (future) Model Y. Clearly one electrician didn't want to mess with it and gave me a quote of $1800. The second one was more reasonable at $700. But, the EV Powershare is a bargain at $365 and I'm pulling the trigger on this deal.

This is Bad Ass. I was hoping there was a product like this. I want to use my dryer hook up.

The dryer plug is right where the car is, so in this case you get away with it. But the problem is that many other people think that they can use their dryer plug too, but their dryer is in a laundry room and not in the garage. Problem is getting that power to the EVSE. An extension cord is not allowed to be run through a wall, a door, or a window, and also isn't allowed to be a permanent solution. Code says this both in the US and in Canada.v

You always have such great, interesting content--I do not even own a Tesla yet, but I found this extremely interesting and a great idea. I agree completely--safety always comes 1st, and electricity is nothing to mess around with, so this money well spent. It seems very well thought out. Thanks for the time and effort you put in making these videos--really appreciated!

This is a great option for a house with no cheap options for 240v power in the garage. Very good looking unit, too. I was able to get a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage installed for $250 because my 200amp circuit breaker panel was in the garage and I only needed the plug mounted a few feet away from the breaker box. If you don't mention to the electrician that the outlet is for EV charging, the price quotes you get MIGHT be less.

How would it work if instead of a dryer & EV you had 2 EV's to charge.. Wouldn't it work great and the same to have one charger be #1 and when #1 car was all charged, it would switch to #2 EV? seems like a great idea. What do you think?

I have a 50amp circuit as the previous home owner had a welder. I don't like the tripping at 25amps, I'd prefer tripping at 30amps

Could we get a Follow up Video for this device?? (If it remained installed...)

Guess I’m late to the party but how do you buy one of these now? The website just asks for a password.
It’s on Amazon now apparently that’s the only way to order it. I just ordered one an the adapter from Tesla so we’ll see how well this works.

Looks like I need to show a diy video to make one cheaper. As it's just a load sensing switch.

How much would an electrician charge to add another socket and fuse to your existing board to allow for both to be ran and also to allow for 32a to your car charger ? compared to your $345 investment

Awesome! My question is, is there ANY way to use something like this if I "tap" off of this circuit? Basically, I'd like to do this, but I have to run the EV circuit back outside from where the dryer is, and run the circuit around to my garage about 40 feet away.
