Ride Out With the Metropolitan Police - Bike Safe

Bike Safe with the Met. The day is split into 3 parts one part in the classroom where they go over a good few points. the next 2 parts are out on the roads, first a bit of town riding then some open country roads.

The cops follow you and offer some advice on improving your riding and will give you some good pointers. The Cops have a wealth of knowledge they are willing to share and access to unlimited courses, infact they all coursed out!

This is a brilliant program on many different levels !   I would like to see something like that here in the US.  Motorcycle cops in my area (Pacific NW) are mainly fair weather bikers though, not as skillful or dedicated as in UK I think.  Their focus seems to be on speeding citations here mostly.

I did the same back in May - it was great fun and I learned heaps. Use skills they taught me every day.
Its obvious they are bikers that happen to be cops; they have the same passion as the rest of us. I'm going to go back when I get a bigger ride....
