Remove the electronic limiter, it’s just a wire you need to unplug and tweak the original carburetor. Doing this will make it go 40-45mph. Love your channel!

These things are pretty reliable if you take care of them I bought one off Amazon about 2 years ago and have put about 7, 000 mi on it. No major issues. Never left me stranded. Simple belt changes, a new carb, tires, oil changes and that's it. Oh and 85 miles to the gallon ain't half bad either 😝

Kick start probably wouldnt work bc the side stand has a safety switch and it was in the down position.

When it comes to this scooter I must leave a comment. I once owned this “pony” when I was in college. It is reliable as long as it is taken care of, or not. I parked this bike outside everyday for two years, both summer and winter. I lived in Indiana so the winter was no joke. The start button stopped working after a year. But the kick start worked until the day it was stolen. Yes it was stolen after two years. The only maintenance I did was oil change. Many many good memories with this bike, especially for parking because that bike can park anywhere, basically anywhere a bicycle can park. As a result, I can leave my dorm at 9:25 and sit in the class at 9:30.

These things have tons of potential, i owned one for over 3 years, was full of problems but i actualy loved it. First things you should do is get rid of all the limiters, 1 in the carb, 1 in the variatior, 1 in the exhaust/ exhaust part of the engine and the rpm limiter in the cdi block-its right under the battery. For performance things, best would probably be swaping it to some sort of 70cc group and a better exhaust. Only difference is, i had a 2 stroke, u have a 4stroke.

I had an e-ton Beamer back in the day (like a Yamaha Zuma, 49.3cc). I put 4, 800 miles on it in just over a year before I blew the motor in it. I added a stereo in a plywood box which fit in the area between the seat and steering. Got over 100mpg, did 30mph, 40 with a tailwind. I rode it for hours every day.

I have two Tao Tao Thunder 50s. One I bought brand new, the other I built from parts. Had them for months and have over 2200 miles on each one. 100 cc kits on both. 45 mile per on both. 125 miles to gallon! My truck has not been out of the drive way for over two months! I WOULD SELL EITHER ONE FOR A GRAND! I love riding them!

I had a similar scooter when I was in China. I had a 51L trunk at the back, I could put a 50 kilos sack between my feet, or hang grocery bags from the hooks, put two 25kg flour bags in the back mounted box. I weigh 120kgs and wife in the back, she's 70kgs. That's actually more than you could put on Electra glide on Honda goldwing. New scooter cost me just a little over $400 together with all the accessories and box, helmet gear and gloves. A tool box and air pump. The suspension was amazing. Small wheels easily let you turn tight spaces. Best of all. Half a dollar gas could get you 30km. Scooters are awesome. They're practical super economical, have tons of storage space and great for daily use. In Asia almost everyone owns it. Either electric or gas. I just don't understand why people in America need +1000 cc and even 2000cc bikes that don't have space even to store your helmet. That big motor is just carrying around all the extra metal weight that doesn't even need to be on the bike because it serves no additional function. Almost all bikes in America have zero practicality and pure leisure .

I have had one from new for 8 years and it has been great! I don't quite have 5000 miles yet, I have 6000 km whatever that comes to. The speedo is off by 30%. I've had it up to 45 mph (gps) downhill and you definitely feel like you are going to die.
My wife bought it to learn and gain confidence. When she got a bigger bike she never touched it again and it became mine. It is pure fun to tool around on while getting 100 mpg.
And it has never stranded me in 6000 km.

I mean if you are a highschooler that doesn’t live that far from school or someone in his 60’s just to get groceries it’s a great little thing🤷🏻‍♂️

I got one of those when I turned 17.i was legit getting 200 mpg on dirt roads and atv tyres. Also it lasted me over 20k miles, but some people keep them going for even longer.

Me and 3 of my work mates all bought the gy6 2 years ago, and we all put the 80cc big bore kit on (25 bucks) and some new main jets in the carb (5 bucks) . All 4 of them will go roughly 45 mph. After a bit of work to the the cheap plastics and tuning the motor, the scooters run awesome and are super reliable. Also, you don't need to buy a new carb, if the carb is "non serviceable" then you can use a Dremel to cut flat screwdriver heads in the screws. With a couple hours of fixing up the cheap ends, it can turn out awesome.
