I've ridden a lot of fat bikes over the years, but for the last year my main bike has been the RSD Mayor V5. In this video, I talk about my build and set up for summer and winter and talk about why this is by far my favorite fat bike I've ever ridden.

Great review! I have a Mayor v4 Ti, also rocking the 29+/26 Fat here in Montana and I totally agree, it kills as a year round bike. I bought it for the geometry as well, wish I had the shorter chainstays of the v5 but not enough to buy a new frame. I keep it slammed at 450. It’s wild that other companies aren’t embracing this geometry, for the first time in a decade I no longer need a hardtail and a fat bike - like you I sold my hardtail. Plus side is my Mayor gets ridden all the time instead of being a niche tool for winter. Love the channel, fun to see you rippin around the trails in my old college stomping ground! Cheers!

Love it! i bought an RSD MiddleChild this year and have been loving it! If I go the Fat Bike route, I'll definitely be checking this one out. Thanks!

The Rocky Mountain blizzard has longer chainstays but you would be surprised how easy the front end comes up, it’s easier to bunny hop than my way rsd 291 . Im dont know what RMB did but the feel of the bike doesn’t reflect the numbers.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Mayor V5 last winter. But came across a deal on a Bucksaw I couldn't refuse. Super cool that you can slam the dropouts almost all the way in while running 29+.

As always reviews and testing is absolute wonderful on this channel …thanks ! Is this the best all around fat bike in your book..? How does it ride with a rigid fork…? Happy trails

I sold my v4 a couple years ago. Highly regret selling that bike 😞. The geo was spot on, thing was so capable even in rigid form.

Good stuff, RSD are putting out exactly the bikes I'd want to buy, just they're in a different country and the postage to the UK is mental! Great customer service from them though, ICAN could learn a thing or two from their example, lol...

Great Video! Do you have any thoughts on the RSD Sergeant V4? I’ve been thinking of running a similar setup with 29x3.0 for summer and 27.5X4.0 in the winter.

You should reach out to Swalbe to review the Al Mighty... It's meant to be the most grippy fast rolling fat bike tyre ever released in 4.8, but considering the competition, that's not saying much (Minions, urgh....)

Based on the 4.0 Cake Eater you are running....do you think a 27.5 x 4.5 on 80mm rims, also Cake Eater tires, would fit this frame? Maybe with the sliding drop-outs all the way back? Thanks!

What made you decide to pass up a newer geometry ICT?

Sorry bud I agree with you about the stack height on the RM Blizzard but your argument about the 455 chain stays isn’t as big a deal as you make it out to be. I mean it’s a Fat Bike after all. Yes I understand the wheel swap for summer. I Run a Wren and 3.8 tires on 52mm rims as well as 165 mm crank arms for the lower BB. It’s size medium and I normally ride a Large. The shorter WB makes up for the longer back end so even compared to my two Large FS MTB’s with 440 CS it’s perfectly fine. I really like your videos but I sometimes have a hard time wrapping my head around some of your comments. Especially the whole CS
