Old CPU Cooler Goes BRRRR

I found a new in box 20-year-old CPU cooler and tried to cool a modern CPU with it.

The whole point of these old "blown over" heatsinks was to cool the surrounding parts on the motherboard. I guess it kind of did its job back then lol

Oh man this is a nostalgia hit, I love the blue-led-everywhere era of computer hardware (despite hating how tacky it was at the time!) The 3.5"bay controller reminds me a bit of the old zalman multi fan controllers. and that packaging is just peak old gigabyte. Love it

Always loved the look of the old fan pointing down coolers. Despite not having cases they were visible in. Had a Thermaltake Blue Orb II back in the day.

Dawid only releases the best old junk from cryostatis! Lovely! In the end it did a pretty good job. Surprising for 20 year old cooler.

A Floppy thingy for fan speed control is better than having to install (really) low quality manufacture's software.
