Mercedes ASR and ABS lights, no Limp Home Mode. Driving the car

Made this video to show my customer that I saw problem he was complaining about. Customer brought the car from PA to me in NY to find what's wrong. I already forgot what I did years ago but these lights are fixed. I think it was one of speed sensors.

Love all of your videos. I have a 1994 mercedes SL600 New wiring in the middle of the engine, and throttle body on passenger side wiring was repaired, on drivers side it was replaced with newer wiring. vehicle was running fine, and then one day, it ran but not much power. The ASR light came on.
i took apart the side that was repaired, (passenger side). i tested all the wires from the plug into the throttle body and they are had continuity. all the wiring look good ( except for the split loom they used). i replaced it with heat resistant stuff, and i also found a plug unplugged behind the mas air flow mounted to the side of the intake. i am not sure what sensor it is, but i reconnected and the vehicle seems to have gotten its power back. i think it was a 2 pin female harness. i also had a bad car battery that i replaced it seems to be running fine, but my ASR light is on. i am afraid to drive it this way. i tried to clear the code with one of those LED Ricks mercedes diagnostic tool. i was able to clear most of them, but it didn't turn off the light. Any suggestions would be appreciated ???

by the way, oil pressure sensor is bad. It doesn't read right

Is this a W140? If so, then been there... You have a fault reading on speed sensor front left? Then the cable of the speed sensor is broken but not completely disconnected. It makes contact nearly always. When you in lower speed go over a bump or turn the steering wheel there will be some pulses missing. and the ABS and ASR lights will come on. Only repair is changing the ABS speed sensor with its fix mounted cable. And you can expect the right side to follow within 10000 km (6000 miles)...If you continue driving the cable will get worse and at last your speedo will be missing the signal too.
I have been drivning my W140 for 9 years and about 180000 km (110000 miles) by now (from 180000 km to 360000 km) so I have some experience of 140s by now ...   Greetings from Sweden.  Marie

I have a 1995 SL500 that runs great but all the lights on the right side of the dash are on and the speedometer and mpg gauges do not work. It shifts ok unless i try hard acceleration. Then it wont shift. Any ideas? I have replaced the engine harness.

Im having trouble i replaced my battery and i got asr and abs lights with a brand new battery all fuses are fine but i dont know how to clear them

Chances of catching a wheel speed sensor dropout on scan tool data is slim on a Mercedes of that vintage. The computer may be able to catch it (hence the code), but the scan tool won't be able to display data fast enough.

I'm curious though, does this car display vehicle speed off the left front wheel speed sensor, or does it have a separate VSS at the output shaft of the transmission?

Can putting a low pressure fuel pump cause the car to sputter when accelerating

loose negative wire? corroded?, its a cluster problem to, you can see several meters change value, look at the oil pressure meter, its going back to zero, engine negative lead loose??

I guess it rest while the car on motion...if it start from 0 speed it comes on...
