I met Jeff (the current owner) and saw the Camaro at a car show in Kissimmee Florida when he lived in Orlando quite a few years ago. Super nice guy, and he did and amazing job with the car!! I believe he's in Colorado now.

I had a '72 GTO that was in my garage for weeks(new heads/cam/carb)...had to blast Muddy Waters' "Manish Boy" as I rolled out of the garage for first test drive... for Lane! Lol!

13 or 14 years ago I was talking about the car with a friend who is a 1st gen Camaro nut but had never heard of the car. So I Googled it. Jeff's website came up dedicated to the car. I emailed him and we ended up exchanging a couple of correspondences. He's a really nice guy who loves the Camaro and fortunately restored it better than it was during the movie and will keep it pristine for the rest of his life. "Better Off Dead" is an '80's classic that isn't played on regular TV anymore. Not sure why, guessing the title is offensive. I mean they play "One Crazy Summer" all the time and it came out right after "Better Off Dead" and is really great too, maybe not quite as great, but still solid. But "Better Off Dead" has more quotable lines. "Gee Ricky, I'm sorry your mom blew up", "I want my 2 Dollars", "Man, now there's a real shame, when folks be throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I built a black 1967 RS with a 396 after I saw this movie. It ended up in a few magazines including Car Craft. A friend of mine still owns it.

Many of us wish we had that one car back. My '67 Camaro SS, 350/4sp with 4:10 gears. I was never outrun by anything in it's class. Loved that car.

I remember reading about the restoration on Jeff's website. He said one of the hardest parts to find was the Mr. Gasket air cleaner. So glad he went to all that trouble to find and restore such a cool car.

I just stumbled on the Carstarz channel and just wanted to thank you for all these videos. I love the format, short, and to the point with no time wasting fluff and no AG1, Scottish land deed offers, fake Japanese steel knife, or any of the other usual YouTube scam ads. Well done sir. I am subscribed and liking each video I view.

I’ve read many articles on this car as it was and is one of my favorite movies and cars. I read it is a true RS but not an RS/SS. Doesn’t matter as it’s still an icon!!

I dig these videos, Although it's a very obscure movie from the seventies I think it would be cool to learn about the 68 Camaro Paul Lemat drove in the movie Aloha Bobby and Rose

It's sad that John Cusack wants nothing to do with this movie. Probably one of his most memorable roles!

I loved this movie and I loved that car! My 1st car in 87' was a 68' Camaro. I also remember the movie The Pickup Artist from 87' which had a 68' Camaro convertible driven by the main character Robert Downey Jr.
