I figured it out. when I cleaned the carb I dropped the tiny washer thats between the spring and o-ring on the air/fuel mixture. found it, put it back in, now the bike is running great. thanks for all the info.

I've got a similar setup in mine.. running a 18-19mm carb/47mm cylinder though. Bike is a 2011 taotao atm50 that I got for $350 with 450km on it. My aim is more reliability than overall speed hence the more toned down build. It was actually 63cc stock which I was fine with but it overheated, piston disintegrated and the 72cc was the smallest I could get locally.. only $60 for the piston, cylinder and a new head/valves.. the overheat was the result of a pod filter running lean.. my stock airbox was missing a chunk and the pod was the best I could get right then. I upjetted as high as my stash allowed (90) but it was still lean.. I knew it was, picked up a new jet the next morning, figured I could ride the five miles to work before installing it but was wrong. She gave out in the last mile, right after a long hill. Ordered a bunch more crap for it last night.. couple CDI, 6gram sliders, belt, intake scoop and some other odds n ends.

Can do about 45-50mph as is..

Colorado is similar.. no mc endorsement needed but need license and insurance. Registration is $6 for three years. Around here NO ONE will work on Chinese scoots so you gotta do the work. If for the best anyway. Parts are dirt cheap and the work is pretty easy.. I've had a bunch of mopeds in the past and a ruckus that was stolen but this was my first scooter rebuild (split case and everything to remove schrapnal) and it probably took me about 10 hours total.

yup 19mm carb and k&n style filter but stock exhause. I just got the bike so don't know any history on it. it needs a new carb, I'll prolly go with 20mm, and I have complete jet kit to tune it. I cleaned the carb and the tank real good. I just had it running and sprayed ether around the intake/carb and it revved up. so pretty sure I have a few things to replace. need new hoses/lines too. idk, got this cheap cheap so not to worried about it.

I'm new to the channel I just picked mine up for $600 is working for a bit then it stopped working so I was thinking about doing the same thing I want to jump to a 150cc but I don't know what I need to achieve this so far my source is eBay I seen a some carburetors for a pretty good price I just didn't know which one I really do need but I don't know what else I need or what they look like to achieve this if you can repeat what the size of the motor is and maybe I'll search for that you know it'd be kind of neat to convert it to an electric scooter I thought that'd be neat to do but then again you got to charge up the damn thing again unless there's a way to put an alternator in it to always keep it charged but anyways my last question is could you give me a list of the things I would need to achieve what you have achieved thank you for your time

Forgot to add...I do utilize 120x70x12" tire on the rear giving me a little more circumference and helps with top end. The 5gm variator weights will help with climbing but slow you down on the flats. 7gm will give you more top end. Also get yourself a breather hose for the engine.

usually whatever numbers are bigger on the speedo is what the milage will be in. that's how my snowmobile was anyway. I'm having trouble with my 50cc gy6, at first start it revs really high then after 30 sec it will drop and stall out. carbs clean, good gas, great compression, valve lash at .oo4, trying to get carb adjusted right.

It's actually 400 somthing kilometers. didn't know if you noticed that your speedo is metric

Go ahead and upgrade to 10 gram roller weights and change out your final gears. I'm doing 60+

Do you know anything about the Peace Sports 50cc scooters??? I'm bout 2 put a big bore kit 2 upgrade it supposedly to 100cc (BTW, thx 4 clearin dat they're actually 83cc eventho advertised as 100cc)... Anyways, I was about 2 order da kit but did 1st a lil research n found out there's 2 different valve sizes; 64mm's in length or 69mm's... I read how 2 tell by lookin @ da engine case for a "5B" or "6B", but yet not all scooters hav it... So now I'm debating whether ordering it by minnie-miny-moe or opening da engine just 2 find out da valve length, since i can just order anutha valves hardware if i got da wrong 1
