Magician reacts to The Clairvoyants on America's Got Talent The Champions 2019 performing mentalism. This video shows the reaction of a magician so you can see how someone in this field thinks about it! This is the finale results show for AGT Champions 2019, and although they were not competing, The Clairvoyants mind-readers were invited to perform. This pair of mentalists put on a fun and entertaining show including a device call the Randomizer that shoots balls into the audience. It's a gigantic machine gun that Terry Crews gets to fire!

I don't think it mattered who Terry picked...had he said Simon, they probably would have just done something to eliminate that guess and move to the next or "spin of the mental wheel"

Their past performances are better, recommended to view/react.

I love what the Clairvoyants do, but I cannot watch their act without noticing what a knockout Amalie is. And I really love their accents too.

Dude, english is freakishly hard to pronounce for foreigners, and the grammar makes even less sense.

The clairvoyants are really really cool, this was not their best performance they’ve had much much better performances I highly recommend going back and watching some of the old shows with them on they really are amazing

The "held back - named balls" was my first thought as well.

They are not Mentalists but rather are Magicians.

Jason, did you figure out now how they did it?

They are from Austria...like Schwarzenegger, Christoph Walz, ...

The Clairvoyants are from Austria. So, maybe a German accent?

It's hard to tell with all the camera cuts, but it doesn't look like anybody but Howie touched that envelope after it was given to him, so I don't see any opportunity to swap it. That leaves only the possibility that Terry was told to name Howie, or maybe led to do so, by some kind of subliminal cuing. But the latter would make the whole effect pretty risky.

I suppose another option is to have more patter etc if Terry named someone else, i.e., more "free choices" until it ends up on Howie. But that is also very risky because it could very quickly become obvious. So I think the obvious conclusion is that Terry was told to name Howie. I'm not a fan of this kind of thing.

The other question is: How did they hold back the named balls after Terry mixed them up? I didn't see anyone else touch the "randomizer" after he put the balls in.

I actually by chance had had seen Clairvoyants (From North Eastern Austria... Hence his strong accent even evident in his German) and I have to admit that save from this over-bloated show: I have had enjoyed their presentation most of the time. I would dare claim them worth your time.
But as someone a little more deductive to "how" they do it I must confess that every show they have presented was (for my personal taste) nothing more than a "party trick" because almost ALL their acts are dependent on gimmicks you can buy from cheat/spy/scam-gimmicks sites from China (in ear magnet-headphone, bingo ball elimination bucket, dice with internal sensors, in shoe morse thumpers... I have to watch their shows all over again to name the full list)... But I have to insist again that they are VERY entertaining and definitely perform very well together

Oh and Jason... I doubt that Terry was in on it whilst picking "A judge from the imaginary wheel"... I believe an initial risk has been taken and the thought was planted forehand... But as a contingency plan they had had a few "out" scenarios to what to say/do on any other of the judges that he would call out for (So yes: the panel was prepainted as well as what was in Howie's envelope ... and NOT adjusted to what judge was to be selected). As a result Howie was going to be brought up one way or the other... I believe they had fortunately successfully planted the thought.

Great set of "commentaries" by the way.. Respectful... easy to follow and very minimally interfering to any recreation the original content actually presents. You have a subscriber)

1:23 first thing i noticed so far is that this acts wastes a lot of paper.
5:38 lol kindergarten question: Howie what's in that picture?
Howie: It's like a balloon?
Female magician: A balloon?!
Male magician: A hot air balloon.
Howie: LIKE A HOT AIR BALLOON!
Lol... howie did u say it wrong by accident due to poor acting, or were you really confused?

now, after seeing the act, i noticed terry is so tall he can see inside the machine and see that it's not empty if the named balls are bigger than the blank balls (thus named balls remain inside). so now i'll just guess terry was in on it. magicians should've covered the machine since this was the only difficult part to guess.

in an attempt to erase doubt about their easy part, they sacrificed their hard part. so now my guess is that terry is in on their hard part.

Uhm .. tsss .. uhm, clairvoyant .. isn’t that seeing what you can’t see with the naked eye, but you can see it, because you have a gift? If so .. then what was the clairoyant part in this performance? I know; lets aks the “jadges”.

What bugs me about much of mentalism (and certainly it seems the case for this act) is there's so comparatively little _skill_ involved, per se. I mean, the banter and stuff is a skill of its own, and there's skill there, but if indeed you're right that they planted audience members and withheld the randomizer balls, then the only question mark was prompting the selection of Howie, and... well, it seems likely that there was a "cheap trick" to that, as well. Versus say something with slight-of-hand that may also be easy to understand, but still is hard to _do_ ... :-/

Balls with names on where held back (they didn't show the empty machine after shooting out the balls); the four audience members had their named balls and specific envelopes before; Terry was in on it (not the first time on a magic act that "random" participants are in on it) and named Howie as he was asked to - voila! Actually, a rather lousy and see-through "trick".

You had it right The marked balls where a little larger. They delivered the picture to the judge with their name on it.

It would be really funny if Howie stuck his head in a picture where he was a fly, landing on a pile of crap.
