REP Fitness PR-5000 V2 Review - Is It Worth It?

After a few months in the basement it's finally time to talk about the REP Fitness PR-5000 V2. How does this more budget friendly power rack stack up to some of it's competition from Rogue and Sorinex?

Hey all, sorry for the reupload, but seems about half of you weren't able to access the video. I need all the views I can get so I can buy a shirt that actually fits. Thanks for understanding.

I got a PR5000V2 this summer in large part because of the lat pull-down. The final decision was because it was roughly $1500 cheaper to my door and in less time with the delays Rogue had on the RM6 this summer.

I also have the globe pull-up bar, and have been a fan but I think that’s just a personal preference. I find it easier to do hanging ab work than with a traditional bar. If you did want to have that flush front look, you could order an extra 41” cross member and then mount the “side-mount” globe.

Overall, though I agree with the review and appreciate the openness about the rack and it’s shortcomings. I really enjoy the rack for my regular use, but have found some of the accessories to be not quite as high quality. The feedback on the jammer arms has convinced me to go with another brand if I ever decide to get a pair as well.

The main reason I won’t ever get a Rep rack is they won’t let me build one and order it like Rogue does.

I’m not going to try to play the game of trying to fight with everyone else and scramble just to get a rack.

It’s a good video though thank you Brandon as always for going over all of the details, it’s much appreciated and I trust what you have to say. Will always support the channel.

Excellent review. One thing I did for my belt squat attachment was to loosen up the bolts on the bottom crossmembers and the rear stabilizer. This allowed me to do two things; 1) to widen the distance between the uprights to have 41-1/4” + for the belt attachment to fit, and 2) to move the crossmembers up so the holes for both belt attachment and crossmember to align.

An excellent video, as always from Brandon! As a French, and more globally a European, every time I see such a setup I am very jealous of the strength stuff available in the USA. In Europe, not only it is more expensive, but also the offer is VERY MUCH lower that the one you have in the US. People like you or Coop would become crazy is you had to cope with this 😭. In the upper segment, we solely have rogue (at 1.5/2x the price that the Americans pay, i.e. overpriced) or ATX (German company, more or less an equivalent of REP). I can't wait for REP to finally come to Europe! Happy lifting to all of you 💪

Thx for the overview. Very happy with my PR-4000. Can live without the gigantic hardware, numbered holes and the logo name plate. For my purpose the functionality is the same at a lower price. Plus it was in stock. Also this sucker is sturdy as hell as a 4 post 30” without bolting down and just the lat/row attachment.

Thanks for the review! This really helped me decide on the rack I was going to get. I would probably come to the same conclusion you had about the iso arms. If you are trying to get them outta there let me know they sold out instantly the other day. I really do like the lat/row configuration and was a big factor in the decision. Thanks again, keep it up!

Fantastic review, thanks Brandon! Had the same issue with the J-cups so I might reach out to their customer service. Really appreciate your content!

Idk if it's the camera focus or the lighting but it really looks like you're standing in front of a green screen lmao

Yay the video Go Brandon!!!! A very fair and balanced review! The sorinex and rogue lever arms are also heavy and difficult for many people to move haha

Looks good. I noticed a lot of people are not overly excited about iso arms. I'm going with the REP 5000. I love the clear coat.

I have no first hand experience, but Rep’s quality seems pretty solid. I just lean toward supporting “Made in the USA”. That said, I really wish Rogue would make a similar plate loaded lat pull down option. I’m not a fan of the Slinger in any form.

Awesome review as I am searching for them on the pr 5000. I am getting the Athena with it, wonder if I still need the rear lat pull-down?

Great review. I went with the PR4000 for the Westside spacing. Very happy with it and like you I went with the 6 post version for plate storage

Nice review.. I had ordered mine a few weeks ago. Also, pulled the trigger on that Ares pulley system.

80" H x 30" D + 16" extension.. bought the front spotter arms and flip down spotter arms. I do agree that it's hard to order the rack when the colors you want are out of stock. I wanted the green uprights, but they were not available at the time I wanted to make the purchase. I settled for the metallic black. Which, I do like after seeing it in person. They do a great job at packaging.
I bought Fray Fitness's Savage Storage rack. Their packaging sucks. Some hardware was missing when that arrived. But, customer service did have replacements shipped out.

Why will REP not allow pre-orders? I want to order the PR-5000 93” in stainless steel with quite a few add ons. I know it’s not currently in stock, but I would like to be able to put all the items together and pay one shipping cost when they are all ready instead of paying multiple shipping costs by piecing my rack together like I’m rummaging thru a salvage yard. I’ve emailed and called them and I don’t think they understand how much more shipping could be if I have to make 7-8 purchases to piece together 1 rack!

When I bought it, there was only black and red. I would've liked the green or even the orange. But the red is stunning.
