When it comes to shower gel I think the best solution is probably buying locally made soap bars. They come in paper wrapping and there’s absolutely no plastic involved.

As someone who works in energy and looks at how, in law, we tackle sustainability and climate change, but is also a HUGE fashion/beauty lover this video is fabulous and needed 🥰 xx

In Vancouver our Nespresso pods have a great recycling program (where I live it’s illegal to not recycle things and they track your garbage and if they catch you, you get a MAJOR fine including if you throw out food scraps that should be composted) the pods go into this red bag and sent to Nespresso facilities where they use the pods to make new bikes and other things so they don’t get put into the landfill. We hardly ever get garbage pick up (twice a month) but we get recycling picked up every week. I wish more cities took recycling and composting seriously.

A woman after my own heart. All the products you showed us I gave to all the ladies in my rather large family for Christmas along with bikes for Africa. It’s the small changes that stir our conscience. Thank you Victoria, I know sustainability is dear to your heart. ❤️

I love that you're promoting this. And to everyone wanting to make changes: please please please everyone, finish up what you have before you buy these alternatives!

I also recommend shampoo and conditioner bars, as well as bars of soap for your body or hands because those are nearly no waste compared to refillable options:)

I use the net bags you use in the fridge but I take mine to the grocery for the fruits and veggies I buy. People gasp when I just put the fruits and veggies in my cart without a plastic bag, so that's kinda fun too!!

Such a good video, I'm also loving this comments section with so many positive comments offering their own tips! My biggest recent change was a switch to reusable period products, the reduction in waste in my bathroom bin has been massive! Definitely recommend to anyone looking to be more eco friendly if it was accessible to them!

I use my work paper shredder to shred all the paper/envelopes from the office/home paper/envelope waste and then put all the shredding’s in my garden compost bin. The shredding’s along with all garden and kitchen waste make wonderful compost for the soil and plants/seedlings.

Victoria,
Yes! I found the Stasher bags a short time ago, and with all the colors it’s a great simple way to save food for another meal 👩🏻‍🍳🤗

I am SO happy to see you doing this video! We’ve made almost all of these swaps too but I didn’t know about those bowl cover / silicone cling film replacement - will be buying that, and of course those pink bin bags!!! We also ditched the Nespresso recently too because now we aren’t in London, we were recycling the pods :( did you know you can use the coffee grinds from your machine in the garden? So we’ve been keeping all of ours ready for gardening in spring! 💓

I’d really recommend Spotlight Oral Care which is a Irish Brand set up by female dentists. Their toothpaste packaging is 100% recyclable and it works great. They have different ones for whitening, strengthening, sensitive teeth etc.

Great video! I also highly recommend switching to a menstrual cup. Much more sanitary than pads/tampons and saves you SO much waste and money in the long run.

I love that Ecover brand!! Been using it in our house for years, and honesty those refill stations are THE best, they are usually based in health food stores / eco stores. You basically arrive in with your own empty bottle, and refill it from huge containers they have in store. Love this video Vic, delighted you are putting this content out there!

Love love love this video Vic! 😍 Made me realise just how many small, and what I thought were insignificant, change Dan and I have adopted! Only realised from you sitting down and going through them, how much they add up! We defo need to stop buying kitchen roll, and also get ourselves those stretchy things to replace cling film. Thank you for sharing this with us, so helpful! 💜🙏

I love how your very conscious now( or maybe you were before) I'm trying to cut back on my single use plastic but some brands don't get it. It's frustrating. This one place I always order from switched over from bubble wrap to corrugated cardboard and recycled packagaing. It's nice to see brands do that now
