Reminds me if how on of the composers for the American soundtrack said that they thought a particular scene had a vibe that would be ruined by music constantly blaring over it.

Funimation was adamant that literally every second of the show needed a score, so the composer(Scott Morgan I believe) made the most quiet and spaced out track he could. Pretty funny.

The worst case of this is the Trunks movie, when he's trying to escape from the androids tere are no dialogues, only an ominous music and the situation is desperate. Then in the dub they WONT SHUT UP but since their lips don't actually move they only talk when out of frame it's horrible.

Gohan going Super Saiyan 2 is another example. They had Gohan inner monologing when he didn't do that in the original.

Funimation try to release a good box set challenge: Impossible

Funimation has this thing where they think children will get bored if there are ever extended lengths of silence.

Dbz has a lot of this, so very often funimation adds in dialog from an off-screen character to fill the silence. Even though it ruins the emotional buildup and removes the building tension of the scene.

Funny part is, I remember that Buu montage, 'cause I had the VHS for the final parts of the Kid Buu saga when I was a kid.
