Everything could have been different if Maria was smart enough to switch citizenship like Martina Navratilova. No stupid Meldonium scandal, no "starring down", no humiliation for being from Mordor. There's an irony in it - Russian women's tennis existed for a period of 1986-2016 (from the first demonstration of Wimbledon on TV to Maria's Meldonium scandal).
