How To Add A Thumbnail To YouTube Shorts (On Mobile!)

I'm not sure why or how YouTube offered this video. On my YouTube app for android, there is no option in the upload steps to pick a frame from the video. There used to be an option on YouTube Studio to choose either a frame or an image file, but that's all gone now

You shouldn't upload shorts from the app tho. For whatever reason the quality is garbage when uploaded from the app, compared to uploading the exact same video on desktop.

So its not possible on desktop, or in studio app. However, you can select a frame from the standard youtube app.
