Bro….$16/hr….two kids…..I remember when I made $16/hr in 2016 with no kids and it was one of the hardest struggles if my life.

I get it. Rent is getting harder to pay every month for us too. We’re stuck. My husband can’t work a second job because of his work schedule, and if I was to work, the money I’d make would go to daycare. It’s so frustrating!

I had an income issue. My wife and I were just making enough to get by so I started searching for jobs that pay with no college education. Was working in a warehouse for $21/hr. Then decided to get my CDL now I make $95k/yr driving a truck and home everyday. Work is hard but you will reap the rewards if you just put in the effort.

I'm impressed he's only making $16 an hour and still able to support a wife and two kids. After he gets a new job with better pay, hopefully they can avoid lifestyle inflation.

This will come to a head eventually. Insane housing prices and insane rent prices will just force people to live at home indefinitely. It doesn’t come from entitlement, it comes from necessity. 500k for the median house now.

To everyone going after Ken for mentioning Wal-Mart: He's referring to their national headquarters being in that area. That's why he said Bentonville, Arkansas. Not a normal "Walmart" job. Walmart is still bigger than Amazon so getting a corporate job at national headquarters could be a good paying option in his local area.

I'll never understand why people get married and have kids at such a young age. If that's what people want to do, that's their prerogative. But I personally feel like those are major life events, and your career financial situation should be taken into consideration before those decisions. The idea is to work smarter, not harder. I wish this young kid all the best!

Guy is smart. He knows he needs more money and the current job will never provide it. It sucks working and not having enough money to live. It sucks when you don't have a job and are broke, but it sucks way more when you are working every day and are still broke. At least he realizes this early and is planning ahead. Some people get stuck and work there forever.

I'll end it if I ever have to work two jobs . One should be enough . That's how it was in the 60s one man going to work . Buys a house a car, goes on vacations and pays for his kids education off of one man's salary .working a normal job

And this is why the wheels are going to come off the entire system before long. When you have an entire swathe of the workforce living on crumbs the top get there legs cut off and the reset happens.
