I grew up in West Virginia. It was a great place to grow up. Wonderful communities to raise your children. Had a great childhood running threw those mountains and riding my bike.

My father watched your trip and he loved it. Very good trip. He calls it going on a trip. He watches a lot of them and really enjoys them. Thank you for taking him along 😂. He's 95 years old.

It was good of you to revisit WV and the coal highways as well as the New River Gorge Bridge. Thank you for including your viewers on this revisit.

Funny how you mention the buildings sitting right on the road, as a German watching your videos I often got the opposite reaction. "Crazy, American houses are all like 100 yds. from the road, and they have this enormous open front lawns without a fence or a wall. Sometimes you have no clue if this is a town or a city park." 😅

I was born and raised in Nitro WV. Have lots of childhood Memories growing up there, and I love meeting my grandfather at the coal mines when it was time to get off. What I really miss is the 4 season we had at home. I live in New Orleans now it's ok, but I want to go home.

I was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia near beckley. My dad was a Coal miner, so glad you took the time to show that history. It has the best people and the most beautiful scenery anywhere.

What a hard life, To be working under ground, and to go to work every day and hope and pray that you'll get back to fresh air and family. So much of the time it was generations of mining past on father to son. It was a time of different and I think better values. Things never stay the same, constantly changing. West Virginia is beautiful. Thank you for the view.

A few bit's: Steve Harvey grew up in Welch. Bob Denver (Gilligan) Retired In the Princeton area and later died there. My father's side is from this area. As a kid he would visit. Granny lived in a house that was heated by a coal stove and wood stove in the kitchen for cooking. Best times of my life.

As a child we once vacationed in Myrtle Beach, thus leaving us traveling I-77 South from Cleveland to South Carolina. It was such a backroad experience that my father said, "Never again." In time I-77 was improved and my parents enjoyed Myrtle Beach many times in their retirement. I happen to enjoy traveling the backroads, through small towns, and seeing the beauty of mother nature.

In 1994 on Bridge Day I rappelled from the walkway under the deck down 750 feet. It was in October and the fall colours made the most spectacular view that was divided by the river with the railways running down east side of the river. Rappelled down twice that day. An amazing memory.
