The gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, but it is nonetheless an excellent recounting of the life and teachings of Jesus, which is remarkably consistent with what Matthew and Luke wrote in their gospel accounts. This is the first chapter of a fully illustrated/partially animated interpretation of the gospel according to Mark.

In this chapter, we read about John the Baptist, Jesus' baptism and anointing from God, the temptations of Christ in the desert, and the beginning of his ministry around Israel with Peter, James, and John.

Although it illustrates the gospel as important, it is also simple to understand as children would do so.
Let us not forget that when Jesus went into the synagogue, he was rejected by his hometown and could not perform miracles there because of their unbelief.

Jesus was John the Baptist's cousin. Just imagine how his mind must have been blown to know his cuz was the Savior of humanity.

I like the message but the paraphrase goes a little far at points. Does a great job making the Gospel acceptable for modern children.

The 3 species of locust in the middle east would make a human sick or possibly die. More likely though, John ate of the locust tree with wild honey. This would be more realistic.
