Ah thank you for clarifying that you can't get hidden abilities from the underground. Also for pokemon via surfing or fishing is there a way of getting hidden abilities or will I have to use the ability patch, wanting a moxie gyarados

Just a quick clarification...If you are breeding, the only time the male pokemon's ability matters is if you are breeding it with a Ditto. If you have a female pokemon with the hidden ability, there's a 60% chance it will pass the hidden ability down to the baby, regardless of what kind of pokemon the father is or what ability the father has. On the other hand, if you have a male pokemon with a hidden ability and you're breeding it with a female pokemon with one of the normal abilities, there is a 0% chance that any of the babies will have the hidden ability. If you are breeding with a Ditto, the non-Ditto parent can pass a hidden ability down with 60% likelihood whether it's a male or a female. Whether or not the Ditto has its hidden ability is not relevant.

All you have to do is get 1 ability patch and then clone the ability patch using the cloning glitch in BDSP and boom you have infinite ability patches!!!

I remember in Shield I hatched my first hoenen shiny and it was Torchic. Got it Yellow, Jolly and had its Speed Boost ability.
