The Catholic Diocese of Arlington has grown significantly in Northern Virginia since its establishment on August 13, 1974 with the installation of its first bishop, Most Rev. Thomas J. Welsh.
On now, on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee anniversary, the Diocese of Arlington is celebrating its rich history as a diocesan family, now 50 years young.
Hear from the many voices of the faithful from over the years—including three bishops and many priests, religious, and lay brothers and sisters in Christ—as they reflect on the grace and goodness of God, and the many milestones that shaped the Diocese into what it is today.
