We know that a lot of people may be a little intimidated to do this stuff by themselves so we thought that we would show you the whole process of updating your Mac to macOS Big Sur. Be sure to pause the video when you need to and try and follow along. The install can take an hour or more depending on your internet speed as well as how new and fast your mac is. So patience is a big part of this. So sit back get yourself settled in as we go through the whole process, including some tips to make sure you are ready, of installing Apple's new macOS Big Sur!

Did all of this. While waiting, when not turning off and on, afterward, I just used my browsers, waited 'til it did its THANG, then let it restart again, BUT... "updates installed" it still says it's Catalina. IDK.

Quick tip: when your in system preferences and the App Store you can hold command + R key to refresh

I always wait for awhile (12.20). My problem is that I tend to procrastinate and forget, until it's too dang late! As long as you have a compatible system (not obsolete) why not make it free and available, always?!?

Hi, so I have a Mac whose screen is broken, I use a HDMI cable to use it but I am wondering if all of these things that you can see will shown via HDMI cable because my screen is completely black. Including the time taken and the login screen.

hi you seem kind and knowledgable can you help me with garage band. I tried to google how to reduce noise and it tells me to open the track info window. I tried everything to do that and now I am worried that I need to upgrade the GB and then. I need Big Sur but this is silly I think. I don't wanna do all this. I am just trying to reduce the noise on the vocal tracks. I rang apple support. useless. and all the YT videos are on old models, telling to press buttons that aren't there sigh.,

I have a13" 2019 Macbook Pro with a 128gb drive. There is 20.5gb free space available and it needs 55gb. I made time machine backups and copied fills individually as well. So nuw empty trash I have 19gb free now. Throwing away thousands of files gave me even less space.

So should I just eraae every file and program I can, , not worrying was they are, and then do the big sur install and afterwards timr machine to restore all the files I'm missing?

I did the Big Sur update yesterday, (11/16) and Numbers and Pages aren't working. I keep getting the "Page quit unexpectedly" error and the option to hit "ok" or "Reopen". I did uninstall Pages and reinstalled. It seems to now open Pages, but not my old documents... Any ideas of why or what to do? Thanks!
