Can a valid iOS be downloaded to a PC, but loaded to a USB thumb drive? Does the iOS on the Mac that you are downloading a different iOS to have to be the same version? I foundan iMac A1312 27" in a dumpster, it has Sierra / High Sierra as the iOS, but since that iOS isn't supported any more, it looks it can't be reinstalled, but a supported version is. Thank you 🤓. The iMac seems to be working, just needs a valid iOS!

Nothing I try works: I get "command not found" or "permission denied" or "no such file or directory" or "killed" I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm using an M1 Macbook Air trying to create a bootable Mojave for an intel MacBook pro that I can't seem to wipe and now is bricked.
