The guy who makes backyard rollercoaster tracks out of PVC heats the sand first then fills the tube with the hot sand. Which allows you to get an even bend for the entire length of tubing.

I just saw someone else do this. What he done was heat the sand in a oven, poor it in the PVC tube, and then he set it in a form to cool. It was a more controlled bend/form. Your process worked.

Nice video. I love using sand for this purpose... works for other pipe materials too. For big sections of pvc I preheat the sand before filling the pipe. I'm going to check out your other vids now too. :-)

You can heat the sand up in the oven also, of you don’t have a heat gun or cooker.
