Teams Refuse to Double Team LeBron In This Era Due To His Many Three-Point Shooters!

Feb 10, 2019 - Here's the reality of today's game [5-out/small ball]. Coaches are in a tough position of having to pick their poison in this small ball era. Double team the stars and get burned with a barrage of three's, or play them straight up and give up a bunch of stats to one player. So coaches have chosen to give up the stats to one player rather than giving up a multitude of three's. Must be nice for players like LeBron to constantly face single coverage vs helpless defenders on an island that aren't allowed to put a hand on him, space and room to operate up the wazoo, vs creampuff rules, far less physicality, and without the second line of defense of shot blockers to protect, alter, deter and discourage shots from the basket. LeBron is simply benefiting from his creampuff era and collecting overinflated stats. 🤦‍♂️ Stick him in the 80s - 90s and he'd be a hybrid version of Magic Johnson and Scottie Pippen. His stat line would look more like 20 PPG on 46%, 11 APG, 7 RPG, 1.7 SPG, 1.6 BPG and 3 TOV-PG! Now we cannot prove this, but we know this because why?? Because we watched the eras! We know what it was like.
