Warriors Have MORE Bad News For Jonathan Kuminga During NBA Training Camp

Golden State Warriors News Today surrounding Jonathan Kuminga comes as Golden State continues 2024 NBA Training Camp in Hawaii with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr making comments about the starting lineup for this Warriors roster heading into the 2024-25 NBA Season. And Steve Kerr has bad news for Jonathan Kuminga as his comments about Kuminga’s position on the court differ from Kumimga’s own self assessment. Kuminga and some Warriors teammates believe him to be a small forward while Steve Kerr insists he can’t play the position without proper spacing in the frontcourt. “He’s definitely a small forward if we’ve got a shooting five out on the floor, right? Because then all the skill stuff that you want out of a three, attacking the rim, getting there [is open]. Now you’ve got a spread floor. So if we’re playing Trayce and Draymond, I’m going to have a hard time playing JK at the three. Let’s see what happens with Kyle Anderson. Let’s see what happens with a healthy Gary Payton. And hopefully there are more combinations that we can play this year, where JK does play a little bit more three and that he shoots it well enough and quickly enough to force defenses to come out at him.”

Jonathan Kuminga plays like a 90s/early 00's 2 Guard.
Warriors run split action and drop the ball to the post often. He's killer in 1v1 Iso post moves. He plays a lot like young Kobe.
Run either Kuminga + Wiggins or Kuminga + Moody and things will go great.

Jonathan Kuminga will continue to be held back. His team should look for a different team. Steve has no intentions to letting him grow.

Kuminga if he played 4 correctly would be taking over Draymond’s spot. So makes sense Draymond prefers he switch to a 3. But for kuminga to take over a starting position from Draymond he’d have to out rebound and out defend him. Plus Draymond makes threes in big games. Does kuminga? At the end of the day if you worked hard, and if you’re shooting hundreds of threes every day and hundreds of ten footers and hundreds of shots in the key daily, you should making any big shot in big moments. Someone get kuminga a Kevin Nash type trainer. If he’s mad about playing time and minutes, he should just stay on the court after games and get those shots in. Out work your competition.

Well Kerr explained it.. its kumingas ball handling and decision making.. thats where his leap needs to come from.
JK is a downhill force, but all it takes is one extra body to shift into the weakside of the paint and all of sudden kuminga can't drive, gets stuck, takes a while to decide whats the next move, etc.
He was also on the lower scale last season of catch n shoots...

My biggest nightmare is we piss off Kuminga, he signs with Memphis, and the Grizzlies start rattling off titles.

Kuminga at SF all day. Wiggins can play some SG. That where Kobe thought he should play. Warriors need to be bigger and/or stronger than opponents at at least one position. With Kuminga at 3 he is quicker, stronger, and more athletic than many at his position. The more consistently he plays 3 the better he will get at D and the more calls he will get.
