It’s true what he says. My moustache is thick and full because I allowed the top hairs to grow down while trimming very slightly above below the lip line. Then when the top hairs reached the lip line, I stopped trimming.

I have tried this technique if you have curly facial hair this means that if you do this that half a cm will end up in your nose

My way of trimming my moustache is to press my lips together and then suck my lips in so that my moustache comes down and forward and that’s when I trim with my electric shaver trimmer. I never use scissors because the electric trimmer is more precise and clean.
