How to fix a rusty corner bead | Rusty angle bead

preview_player
Показать описание
A rusty corner bead or a rusty angle bead can be a real problem to fix and must be done correctly because if you try to paint or paper over it without fixing the rusty bead first the rust will eventually come through the paint or paper. This video shows how to remove the plaster for the affected area, clean the bead and apply some rust convertor before filling the area and painting it using a stain blocking primer. Once the primer has dried you can paint the damage with the paint of your choice, or even wallpaper over it.

So many people would just paper over that or paint it not here though! Nice work and explanation.

What situations would you suggest that you just replace the entire cornerbead instead? And more specifically I'd ask would you recommend removal for a bathroom floor to ceiling shower wall cornerbead and which the entire bottom of the drywall about 3" high all the way across and again about a foot up another area roughly 2x4 are both water damage and will also need to be replaced. (Probably just going to replace entire drywall with newer mold resistant versions and to check fully the framing for any real problems before worrying about cosmetics) thanks for the video and keep them coming. 👍

The other option is to paint the room brown.

Another great video. I learned a cool tip.

I must say I do admire you putting up these videos. You must get a lot of grief from those "hater" type people.

I assumed you've developed a thick skin over the years :)

Keep them coming!

Great video - again!
Seems daft but it had never occurred to me just to treat the rusted section instead of ripping out and replacing the head.

Good job, as usual. Since we don't see these much in Canada, I'm wondering what the cause of the rust was. Just moist air coming in from an open window over time?

Great step by step instruction video! Top job as usual, may I ask you a question? I have that same purdy scraper, it's fantastic, but is there anyway of "sharpening" the edge of it? I've ran it over sandpaper a few times but not sure if I should use an oil stone. I would greatly appreciate your advice!
