40 years ago, this song was as powerful as it still is. Reason? Its scripture based. Something we have lost today with our gospel singers

25 years ago I used to sing this song in high school. Last year August at 3.00am, the Holy Spirit dropped this song in my heart. I was facing the most difficult time in my life. The storms were raining hard all around me. It seemed there was no way out..I sang this song back to back almost 10 times in my living room with tears from the depth of my heart. 3 months later, the Lord delivered me out of my bondage and repayed me back double for my trouble. Today as I face this sturborn demon of sickness in my daughters life, I am reminded that he who did it yesterday will do it again today. Oh the blood that gives her strength from day to day, it will never loose its power.

My mother and my 2 aunts, plus 2 siblings and 8 cousins used to go camping in the mid 1970s and we would sing this song (and many others). This brought back memories that are very special to me. Thanks and God Bless.

I was reading Ps. 25: 1-11 this morning and realized I was singing this song! It flows out of these verses. How many scriptures I remember from the songs we used to sing back when I came to the Lord in 1972 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa CA. Thank you for posting this. And the comments are lovely!

We used to sing this song in church nearly every Sunday when I was growing up. As I read Psalm 25 this morning, I just had to sing it. It's such a powerful song. I trust in You Lord!

Back when Christian song writers quoted Scripture in their songs. Something has gone out of worship music since then...

My husband and I were Hippies 101, as Barry McGuire used to say. We were saved in the Jesus Revolution in 1971 and 72. This was a song we sang frequently in the coffeehouse we were involved in. It never loses its power because it is His Word!!!

Yes, we sang this at our church over 40 years ago. Timeless. Thank you, Lord. Worship needs to be ushering us into His presence.
