_Rosemary's Baby_ holds up so well. It is one of the few films that deserves its reputation in the horror genre.

Paramount is notorious for that sort of thing. They have an army of copyright lawyers scouring the web at all times.

"But you know who else sucks? Roman Polanski."

John Cassavetes was the secret weapon of "Rosemary's Baby." He played the husband role with just the right amount of smarm. He wasn't so much of a jerk that it wouldn't be believable for somebody as inoffensive as Rosemary to end up with him. Cassavetes really nailed the muted self-absorption and vanity of the character.

Rosemarys Baby is a horror movie classic. It highlights real terrors such as pregnancy, gaslighting, and uncertainty. Not seeing the baby is chilling because it’s up to our imagination. The evil coven of satanists next door and Ruth Gordon’s amazing performance. Moral of the story DON’T CONFUSE NICE WITH GOOD.

I still get jump scared when you randomly appear on screen in the chair like Annabelle 😭

Still one of my favourite movie endings. The left turn into the satanist ritual discovery, Rosemary calmly mothering the offspring of pure evil, the haunting score. It's all so effective in its creepiness; (even the book carries this same tone with the ending)

The success of Rosemary's Baby lies so heavily on Mia Farrow's strong, completely invested performance. She was perfect in representing her time, the sketchy treatment of women by men, and a very particular socio-economic class at the time. Always makes my own Top 10.

Great stuff as usual! Glad you’re making so many classic horror film analysis videos.

Hope to see these covered some day:

- Joe Cooper (Killer Joe)
- Art the Clown (Terrifier series)
- Nino Brown (New Jack City)
- Jake "The Muss" Heke (Once Were Warriors)
- Spider-Man 3 villains (Sandman and Venom)
- Dr. X (from the Operation: Mindcrime albums by Queensrÿche)

Your presentation uniquely doesn’t suffer too much from still images over video, no biggie. You never even play audio from the stuff you discuss, so ridiculous you get a hard time over your videos. Thanks for your hard work, been a fan for years

I have to give this video a thumbs up due to the explanation prior to Rosemary and Guy moving in. I hadn’t seen this mentioned in other video essays.
