11022 Nature based solutions to strengthen urban climate resilience implementation pathways
Показать описание
Shifting towards a more nature-based approach in designing and managing urban environments is crucial for creating thriving cities. Nature-based solutions (NbS) play a significant role in strengthening urban climate resilience and well-being while offering multiple benefits and reducing the risks associated with climate change. However, city planners and other stakeholders often encounter challenges when it comes to conceptualizing and implementing sustainable NbS projects.
The successful implementation of nature-based solutions requires a systemic and holistic approach. It involves city-wide planning and coordination among various stakeholders. Success factors include creating awareness, building capacity, developing adequate policies and regulations, long-term maintenance strategies and funding strategies.
The session is bringing together experts and practitioners from all over the world to share experiences and plant the Seeds of change to make cities more resilient.
We invite participants to rethink how we use, value, and manage urban ecosystems and integrate Nature Based Solutions. We encourage participants to embracing the complexity of working at the level of systems change and learn from presented case studies and group discussions about best practices to address design and implementation challenges.
In the session we will engage with the audience using interactive tools such as mentimeter, Miro boards, or google documents.
