Yes, it's correct to use either present continuous or present progressive.
It's good to be aware of spelling differences, but remember which patterns are standard for a particular dialect.

Your first question is: "Why does the dog smell bad?" (Right? That's correct.)
Your second question uses "dig, " but that is a verb, not a noun, so you could ask: "Why are you digging?"
Does that help?

Would you like a drink? (a = article, drink = noun)
Yes. (That would be great. Thank you.)

Does that help?

Hi Muhammed. Thank you for using my videos then and now. I don't have full scripts for these videos with Natasha. It was a conscious decision not to include captions in all videos or in all parts. As this series is for beginners, I want viewers to have a similar experience to Natasha's. She has to listen to me without captions or subtitles, and she follows along. Some words are missed, but she understands my basic meaning. In my other recent playlists, captions are provided. Kind regards! :)

The flowers = subject
smell = linking verb
good = adjective (complement = it describes the subject "the flowers")
If you add "are, " then you have two linking verbs. BE is also a linking verb.
1. The flowers ARE beautiful.
2. The flowers SMELL good.
3. The flowers LOOK colorful.
BE, SMELL, LOOK = all three are linking verbs.
:)
