Learn English Tenses: The Present Continuous

Welcome to this English grammar lesson about the present continuous tense. This is one of the most common English verb tenses, and it is very useful to learn it. Once you master it you'll be able to talk about the things you are doing right now, the things you are doing in your life, and you'll learn how to use it to talk about scheduled events in the future.

I'll start by helping you learn how to form the verb tense for spoken English using contractions made up of the subject and the verb "to be" and then the -ing form of the verbs that you can use. I'll also make sure I help you understand how to use it in the negative, and how to form questions with this tense.

At the end of the lesson I'll give you an English practice technique you can use to help really learn this tense and never forget it!
