Traxxas Spartan First Run Unboxing 6s

Today we do a Unboxing of the Traxxas Spartan 6s with new colors. We take it out for the first time on the lake running 6s batteries. The boat is capable of hitting 50 MPH.

I just put up a video of this boat as well. Had mine for close to a decade. Decided to bring it out. Mine came with 2 NIMH batteries, but, could upgrade to 2x 2 or 3 cell lipos. Super amazing boat. Super stable.

I bought one a couple of years ago from offer up, took it to the Colorado river and kept dyeing. I got it fixed but havn't had a chance to take it out. Hopefully this spring, can't wait.

Traxxas really didn’t do much homework. Rubber tube around motor. Plastic prop, hatch comes off on a flip. All battery come out totally soaked. 😢 if your first time buyer your in trouble right from purchase. Shame on Traxxas for not doing the homework. I believe the boat team that approved the Spartan should be fired like the pro boat team that signed off on the UL one and other boats with the 2000 kv 6pole . You should be able to run the boat out of the box without having to worry about drying your equipment in the first 10 minutes or less of playing with it. Put your money in Proboat Sonicwake V2 . At 420.00 that self righting. Metal prop, metal cool jacket for motor, seal on lid, Four corner lock downs . Just saying

Looks like it can't handle anything but glassy smooth water. Kind of what I'd anticipate going 50 mph on a 4 foot hull.

Picked up a Sonicwake V2 last Saturday. It's already in the mail back to HH.. I just hate traxxas proprietary connectors and such. Is the boat awesome? It doesn't seem to flip much? The Sonicwake has self righting though. Used it often as it flipped easily in chop.

Spartan is a great ship. There is no need to improve it, because it costs a lot of money. I know what I'm talking about. otherwise, you made a nice video. A friend drowned mine in water that was 4°C. oops

Does this vehicle have no self righting function :( They have the Traxxas Spartan SR which solves that.
