To show His meekness and humility, the first time He came to die on a cross for us, the second time Jesus comes as our conquering King!

I recent had a dream where I was in a large stadium in the middle of the field, and thousands of small children began walking out onto the field smiling, laughing, and chanting “Dave the Donkey” over and over. It was the most peaceful and happiest dream I ever had. When I woke up I thought of Dave the Donkey for many weeks before I finally decided to look it up. I never heard of Dave the Donkey before in my life so when I discovered that it was a Children’s story book about the donkey that Jesus rode on to Jerusalem before he was nailed to the cross, it floored me a little. I know it was a sign from God.

You did not answer your own question: Why did Jesus ride a donkey into Jerusalem for his Triumphal Entry?
You only spoke of the events and what they led to, vaguely.

Why did Yahusha, the One you call[Jesus] come riding into Jerusalem on a Colt or Male donkey?....Well, its quite simple....He was fulfilling a three-fold prophecy, with a fourth one in the rear. The First PROPHECY can actually be found in the book of [Genesis] 49:10, which says.."The scepter will not depart from [Judah], nor the staff from between His feet, until Shiloh comes and the allegiance of the nations is His"! "He ties His [DONKEY] to the VINE, His [COLT] to the choicest "BRANCH". "He washes His garments in WINE[Blood] of[Sacrifice], His robes in the BLOOD of grapes, [ the GRAPES of Wrath when He returns His robe will be dipped in Blood!] The Second prophecy is found in [Isaiah] 62:11
Behold, YAHUAH has proclaimed to the end of the earth: "Say to the daughter of Zion"!, “Behold, your SALVATION comes; behold, His REWARD is with Him, and His recompense before Him.” The Third prophecy, of course, is found in [Zechariah] 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion"! "Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem"! "Behold, your King is coming to you"; "He is just and endowed with SALVATION, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a Colt [Male donkey], the foal of a donkey[She-ass]". Yahusha of Nazareth, meaning[Salvation of Nazareth] did indeed come into Jerusalem, riding upon a Colt, which is a male donkey, but He was not alone, the Mother[ She-ass] did not travel far from behind her baby male colt....And Lazareth [Eleazar] [who was raised from the DEAD and who was the very proof of Yahusha's Messiah-ship] was following close behind Him riding upon the Mother donkey, the [She-ass]. It was LAZARUS who was tied to the "VINE"[Christ] and He was also tied to the Colt[Male donkey] which carried the BRANCH from Nazareth [The Messiah]! The scriptures make it clear, when its says...And then..."It was at that point in time that ..."A large crowd of Jews[Israelites] learned that Jesus[Yahusha] was there'. "And they came not only because of Him, but also to see Lazarus[Eleazar], whom He had raised from the "DEAD"..."So the Chief priests[Levites] made plans to put "Lazarus" to "DEATH" as well"...[John] finally, LAST, but certainly not LEAST....Then there is the PROPHECY of 1st [Kings] [1:32] when King David said, .. “Call in for me Zadok, the [Priest], Nathan, the [Prophet], and Benaiah, son of Jehoiada.” So they came before the King.... David said, “Take my servants with you, ” and .“Set my Son Solomon on my own MULE and take Him down to Gihon"."There Zadok, the [Priest] and Nathan, the [Prophet] are to ANOINT Him [King] over hope that That's all....Shalom

He rode the donkey to show his humility and love for his chosen ones. They rejected him and crucified him. He is coming back riding on a noble creature/horse with a sword in his hand with fury and anger against all those who rejected him. At any given moment.

He rode into Jerusalem so the crowd would proclaim him King of Israel, which gave the princes of this world the reason they needed to crucify him. Thus playing into God’s hand.
1 Corinthians 2:6-8 KJVS
[6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The death of our Lord then set the stage of the return of our Lord as a part of the Holy Ghost. Which is the mystery of God, Christ in you the hope of glory, Col 1:27.
John 17:21-23 KJVS
[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. [22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: [23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

I don't think this video answers the title question. In accordance with the royal Jewish custom (1:33, 34/2 Kings 9:13), in kingly coronation, Jesus showed His acceptance of the tradition. And in giving evidence of His divinity, He chose a donkey "wherein yet never man sat" Luke 19:30). Ethologists affirm that unbroken mules are hopelessly stubborn due to fear of the unknown. But the animal on which Jesus rode, cooperated completely, recognizing its Creator's voice; even amidst all the clamor of a parade. The beast of burden, just like the sacrificial Passover lambs, led the Saviour to Calvarry.
