The 1st time I heard about Krampus was when the movie came out a few years ago. When I heard about the myths the movie was based on I thought, "Well it would make sense to give the brats on the naughty list what they deserve & to have someone to do that job."

He is NOT with "Santa claus" the krampus (pronounced krahm poos) comes along side "saint nicholas". They whip bad children with a thin stick, a bundle of thinner sticks or a cow tail. The look that is popular now only came about recently; in which they look like orcs from lord of the rings. The orcs in the movies actually came from an austrian man from the area of tirol who created krampus masks in the 70's ( I think) don't remember the year exactly.
